Congratulations on your new tattoo!
Now you can sit back, relax, and do nothing else! Seriously.
I have had the best results with this simple healing method and it makes it easier for everyone!
DO NOT pick or scratch at the dry skin/flakiness; let the skin fall off naturally. Picking can cause scarring and premature loss of pigment.
DO NOT apply any anti-acne products (e.g. Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, Proactiv, etc.) or anti-aging products or facial products containing Alpha Hydroxyls (AHAs), Retin-A, Lactic or Glycolic Acids to the treated area while healing.
NO exercising and/or sweating for a few days prior to getting tattooed and for one week after.
DO NOT apply make-up to the tattooed area for the first 2 weeks. Cosmetics of any kind may interfere with the healing and color of your tattoo.
DO NOT bleach, tint or dye the tattooed area for one month following the procedure. Do not thread, wax, or use hair removal products on the treated area while healing.
The final step of the microblading process- the perfection session. This session is the time to address any area/s of the brows you’d like to tweak, adjust, darken or make bolder! All clients are required to revisit between 3-6 weeks to perfect their brows. Some strokes do not stay perfectly, and more need to be added once the first session heals. For clients to receive beautiful microbladed brows, they must come in for this perfection visit
Remember, your service is not complete until this session happens! Trust me, it’s what will ensure your brows stay happy and healthy longer!
This step is entirely in your hands...and quite possibly the most important part of the whole process! It is absolutely imperative that clients follow all post-microblading instructions for good results. We will discuss all after-care, as well as all of the "if's, and's & but's" that come with this healing process. I will also send you home with your aftercare instructions, as well as the proper products to use on your brows to help the healing process. As always, if you have any questions, never hesitate to reach out!
Last, ink is applied all over your brows, as a mask, to ensure each stroke has been fully saturated with ink. I let this sit for a few minutes, then wipe off the ink to reveal your new brows! After this, if needed, I will finalize any tweaks and adjustments for brows you LOVE!
Next, we begin microblading your brows! Using a manual microblading tool, I will create tiny hair strokes, mimicking the natural direction and length of your brows. Equal time will be spent going back and forth between each brow, paying special attention to thorough, even strokes and ensuring each hairstroke is done with the utmost care. The microblading step usually takes between 45 minutes to 1.5 hours.
Next step, I will spend ample time shaping and drawing on your brows as desired. Since there isn’t an accurate way to depict microblading (or end result) with makeup or pencil, the outline will indicate shape, placement, thickness, etc. It’s a great place to triple check we're still on the same page! I use many different methods to ensure your brows are the perfect shape for your face, bone structure & age. We begin microblading once you are completely happy with the brow shape and design.
When both of us have a clear picture , I will numb your brows with a topical lidocaine numbing cream. Keep in mind, this procedure can be uncomfortable for some (although most report little to no pain), so I will take every step possible to ensure you don’t feel much! Numbing cream will need to be on your skin for a few minutes pre-procedure.
First step is the consultation. Since each client fills out a detailed client form, the info you share will give a very clear and accurate idea of your brow goals. This helps with the consultation we have during your initial treatment (this can also be done separately if you prefer)! During the consultation, we will discuss, in detail, the look you are trying to achieve and what recommendations I might have for you. Once we have clearly determined your goals and are on the same page, we will move on to the next steps.
It’s the day that you’ve been waiting for – Microbladed Brows with hair-like strokes! The color is perfect and the shape is everything you’ve dreamed of.
As the pain and tenderness goes away, your brows will darken. This is because the fresh color goes through a period of oxidation. However, this does not last longer than 7 days and is minimal. You should not experience heavy scabbing. Any scabbing will be thin and light. You should feel comfortable going to work the very next day.
Your Microbladed eyebrows begin to flake as part of the healing process which lasts 1-2 days. The Microbladed area is itchy and you might feel irritated, but scratching is strictly forbidden. The area is still pretty sensitive and scratching can cause complications. So, AVOID picking and itching your brows!
You finally treat your eyebrows normally. The color of your eyebrows should look more even and natural. Remember, even though your eyebrows feel normal, your skin is still in the healing process. Your eyebrows will now look lighter than they will when fully healed at 6 weeks. This is because you have new skin and it needs a few more weeks to finish the healing process.
After 1 month, your skin will be completely healed. The color and definition of the hair-strokes is beginning to even out and look more natural and brow-like. The skin of the treated area is not so sensitive anymore, but keep following your artist’s instructions and avoid certain products and activities.
This is the point where you’ll be able to tell if there is anything you want to add or change, there could be a couple spots from loss of pigment, which is all dependent on how well your skin took the pigment, BUT NOTHING TO WORRY! On your follow up, you have the opportunity to adjust anything you’d like about your new brows. This is your opportunity to make sure you are 100% in love with your beautiful brows.
Not all eyebrows look great immediately after being done or until they are healed. The microblading healing process lasts for about a month. This is also individual, some people heal faster, some take more time. During this period, your brows may look patchy, start peeling, then lose pigment (it will come back, don’t worry).
It is important not to judge the success of the treatment during the healing process. You must WAIT until your eyebrows are completely healed to see the results of microblading! For some it helps to be prepared for what is microblading brow shock – new brows take getting used to!
Think of microblading as a two-part procedure. The first touch up appointment is mandatory. It is done 4-8 weeks after the initial treatment, once the healing process is finished.
I will fill any patchy areas, if there are any after the healing, and make all the necessary adjustments!
The end goal of these procedures is a beautiful, naturally healed result. When anti-aging, lightening, brightening, smoothing, tightening, acne, color correcting, etc. skin care products are used, the skin can actually thicken leaving the results unpredictable. IN addition, any products that speed up the skin cell’s turnover process can cause your brows to fade prematurely! You are paying a lot of money for this service, and these products have a HUGE impact on healed brows. If these products are used 4 weeks prior or 4 weeks after the appointment, the brows will heal very patchy, completely faded, dark, or very unnatural in color, (I have seen blue, and even purple/pink eyebrows). I always say your face is like a swimming pool, even if you avoid the brow area, these products will still affect the outcome. For best results, I only recommend using the basic daily cleanser and daily facial moisturizer (i.e. Cetaphil) to prepare the skin for the procedure. If you have questions about which products to avoid please don't hesitate to reach out.
Protect your investment! Permanent cosmetics will require consistent care once healed to ensure a lasting and natural result.
- Permanent makeup can last anywhere from 1 to 2+ years depending on the client's lifestyle, skin type, and aftercare.
- Exposure to the sun and tanning beds can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment.
- When you are outdoors, always apply sunscreen to the treated area once completely healed to avoid excess fading or discoloration of the pigment.
- Maintain removal of unwanted brow hair outside of your microbladed shape by tweezing, waxing, threading, or razoring.
- Laser procedures such as hair removal or resurfacing will alter the pigment. Please inform your technician of any permanent cosmetics on your face..
- Avoid anti-aging and exfoliating products such as retinols, glycolic, salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, etc. This will cause premature fading over time.
- Moisturized skin retains better! Keep yourself hydrated and always apply a daily moisturizer to your permanent makeup.
- Touch-ups are recommended every 18-36 months to maintain your results.

10 Enterprise Dr. inside The Beauty Booth, Rohnert Park, CA. Located in a small shopping center, we are located next to Power Fit Training. There is plenty of free parking in the lot outside the salon.
Where are you located? Is there parking?
No, we want to work with as much of the existing hair as possible. Once I finish drawing your brow shape, I will ask you for permission to remove any hair outside of the agreed shape. EVERY HAIR COUNTS!
Will you remove/shave off my eyebrow hair?
I use two different types of topical numbing creams to help alleviate any discomfort. Having this service performed during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort during the microblading process.
How painful is microblading/lips/liner?
On the surface of the skin, it takes approximately 14 days to ‘heal’. It is imperative during this time that you let the skin naturally exfoliate. This means keeping the face out of direct sun, water, sweat, steam, etc. Once the flaking period is complete, the result will appear lighter and the true color will come out after four weeks. As long as you’re good at following the aftercare instructions, there shouldn’t be a problem going to work or being out in public.
How long does it take to heal? What is the healing process like?
The appointment usually takes 1.5 to two hours, with time being spent prepping the skin, measuring the brows, and mixing the color so your brows turn out spectacular!
How long is the appointment?
Permanent makeup on the brows typically last one to two years for most people before they need a touch up. Cosmetic tattoo treatments are considered semi-permanent and will not wash off — however, they will fade over time and may need to be refreshed every 18 months to 24+ months. Those who do not follow pre-care or after-care instructions properly may require more frequent microblading touch-ups.
How long does it last?
My goal is to help the transition from lack of brows to beautiful brows be easy and uneventful. So don’t worry, they will look great! They may be a little darker for a couple of days, but you shouldn't experience any peeling, scabbing, redness and will only have very minimal swelling that dissipates throughout the day of your appointment. You can go out to dinner the same day — just try and avoid alcohol because it can negatively impact the healing process, and worse of all, it leads you to make questionable decisions like touching your eyebrows with dirty hands!
How will my eyebrows look right after the procedure? do I need to go home and hide for a couple of days?
Touch-ups are done between 3 and 6 weeks after your initial procedure (no later than twelve). If you do not schedule your eyebrow tattoo touch-up within twelve weeks, you essentially will be ‘starting over’ as most of the color will not stay. On top of that, you will be required to pay more when you do come back. At the second appointment, we assess the color retention and make adjustments as necessary. Everyone heals differently and at different rates. If your cosmetic tattoo does not heal perfectly the first time, do not worry! We can always go bolder and add more density as well as correct any irregularities in the brow during this time.
Is the second appointment really necessary?
